Feature Highlight: Find and Invite your Friends

CastRoller’s most powerful features are its social features. I love being able to see what podcasts my contacts have added to their collection, and to share episodes that I enjoy with them as well. CastRoller makes it easy for you to find the people who know who are already using the site, and send invitations to the people that aren’t here yet.

Just go to the Find Your Friends page. On there you’ll see an “Import Contacts” button. You can click the button to import your contacts from your e-mail software or from your webmail. You can import from Yahoo Mail, Gmail, Outlook, AOL or any other software that exports to a standard format.

Just follow the instructions on that page and you’ll be able to pull in all of, or just a few of your e-mail contacts.

You also can just type in a few e-mail addresses into the textbox on the page.

When you click the “Find Your Friends” button, CastRoller will go and look for any users with the same e-mail address that you provided. If the site finds a match, it will automatically add that user as a contact for you.

If there are some people who aren’t using CastRoller, you’ll get the option to send an invitation to them. Again, you can send the invitation to everyone, or just the people you select. You also have the option to include a personal message to be sent along with the invitation.

If the person signs up for CastRoller using your invitation, you’ll automatically be added as friends, and you’ll recieve an e-mail to let you know.
